Senior Benefits Analyst
(Health, Welfare & Retirement)
Job Summary:
Performs and participates in the analysis, design, and development of complex health, welfare and retirement plans and programs.  Provides professional and analytical guidance in the administration and management of company health, welfare and retirement plans.  Monitors trends in the business environment and stays abreast of applicable legislation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides effective oversight and financial management of numerous key programs and plans that have organization-wide impact, including health, welfare and retirement programs for the U.S.
  • Provides accurate and concise guidance to labor teams to include but not limited to modeling cost impact to the business and providing sound benefit recommendations that aligns with company and Labor Team goals.
  • Communicates effectively, orally or in writing, within all levels of the organization.
  • Oversees benefit vendor relationships to ensure claims processing and account management remain within contracted services.
  • Analyzes and develops policies and benefit plans covering health insurance and disability policies for the U.S.
  • Analyzes market competitiveness of current benefits and retirement programs and remains updated with legislative changes.
  • Researches market trends with the ability to translate back to the business.
  • Conducts enrollment meetings and facilitates enrollment requiring travel to locations throughout the U.S.
  • Coordinates plan documentation and plan compliance to regulatory standards. Examples include Summary Plan Descriptions, plan determination or registration, governmental reporting, and mandated participant disclosures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.  Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers.  May coordinate tasks with coworkers in a work unit and/or project.
  • Customer-centric, organized, detailed oriented, high sense-of-urgency
  • Advanced MS Office Excel skills
  • Advanced problem-solving abilities, skills and leadership
  • High level financial acumen
  • Strong resilience and stress tolerance to time pressures, adversity, disappointment or opposition
  • Flexibility and ability to reprioritize deliverables as needed
  • Minimum of 6+ years of health, welfare & retirement experience
  • Minimum 3+ years of self-insured experience
  • Minimum of 6+ years of retirement (401k) experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • CEBS certification a plus
